Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973 in Mumbai, India. Viswanathan Anand is the current World Chess Champion and an Indian chess grandmaster. He was born on December 11, 1969. He is among the four players who broke the 2800 mark of the FIDE rating list. In 1983, at the age of 15, he won the National Sub-Junior Chess Championship. Later, in 1988, he became the first Indian Grandmaster, at the age of 18. He was the first youngest Indian to win the International Master title.Anand became the first Indian to win the FIDE World Chess Championship in 2000. Besides, he has won several other prestigious chess tournaments such as Linares, Corus and Dortmund. In 2003, he won the inaugural edition of the FIDE World Rapid Chess Championship.

Kumar Ram Narain Karthikeyan was born on January 14, 1977. He is an A1GO and Formula One driver. In 1998, Karthikeyan with the Carlin Motor sport team made his debut in the British Formula Three Championship. He participated in the Formula Nippon F3000 Championship in 2001, and was ranked amongst the top ten. In the same year, he became the first Indian to ever drive an F1 car.In 2005, Karthikeyan signed the preliminary deal with Jordan Formula One team for the 2005 Formula One season, thus became India's first Formula One racing driver. On 16th December 2007, he won the A1GP of Zhuhai (China) for Team India which was India's first A1GP win.

He is regarded as the greatest all-rounder player under whose captainship, India won the first and only Cricket World Cup in 1983. Pilavullakandi Thekkeparambil Usha, known as P. T. Usha was born on June 27, 1964 in Kerala, India. She is a great Indian athlete and is regarded as the Queen of Indian track and field. She started her career by participating in Indian National School Games in 1979. Later she represented India in the Moscow Olympics in 1980.In 1983, Usha won her first gold medal in the Asian Track and Field Championship, in Kuwait. She won 13 gold medals at ATF championships between 1983 and 1989. She became the first Indian woman to reach the final of 400m hurdles in 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. So far, she has won 101 international medals and was honoured with the Padma Shri and the Arjuna Award in 1985.
